Electronic Motor Monitor:
The Control Panel Indicator Light on the upper left side of the power unit monitors the operating
condition of the motor by displaying the following colors:
| Green Light: |
Monitor is operating (In the event of the motor failing to operate or in unusually noisy -
call your dealer for service.) |
| Orange Light: |
Call your dealer for free motor check-up. |
| Red Light: |
Call your dealer for motor service. |
| Flashing Light: |
Every five hours the light will start flashing to remind the operator to check the debris
screen. Press small reset on the control panel to reset the timer. |
Debris Screen:
- By opening the latches on each side of the power unit the waste tank can be dropped down to
allow access to the debris screen (part #AA021/AA022). Check screen and when it's two-thirds
full, replace. While servicing the debris screen, check the guard screen (located in the
separation tank above the center cone), and clean the screens as needed. The guard screen is
not removable. Use a stiff brush and clear the screen of any debris. Check the entire
upper part of the separation tank and remove any debris.
- Install new debris screen by stretching open the top of the debris screen (knot to the bottom)
and suspend it evenly on the hooks, on the lower part of the center cone. Close separation
tank by lifting lower section into place and closing latches on each side.
Hose & In-Wall Pipe Cleaning:
Turn on sink faucet to hot water. Hold hose under water and suck it through the system
continuously for 30 seconds. Remove from water and allow system to suck dry air for another
30-60 seconds.
This should be repeated for each vacuum inlet in the home or business.
Recommended Intervals:
Residential - Once a month
Commercial - Once a week
At the End of Each Day of Commercial Use:
- Open the lower section of the separation tank by releasing the latches on each side.
- Rinse out the separation tank by using a garden type water hose where available.
- Leave tank open for the night.
| Be sure that items are not stored on the top of or behind the power
unit. This will block the motor cooling ventilation. |

Troubleshooting Guide |
If Motor Starts and Stops:
- Power unit regularly stops to drain every 8 to 10 minutes and automatically restarts. This
is normal operation.
- If motor momentarily stars and stops, the unit may be plugged into a 15 amp. ground fault
interrupter plug. Some of these will temporarily cut out with a 12-amp. load without tripping,
causing the motor to start and stop. Plug into a regular outlet or higher rated G.F.I. plug.
If Motor Fails to Run:
- Check your main fuse or circuit breaker at the main power supply. If necessary replace
burnt fuse or reset breaker.
- Check the reset button on the left side of the AQUA-AIR Wet/Dry power unit. Pressing
button should restore service.
- See if the float in the waste separation tank has dropped down to normal empty position.
Clean tanks if there is debris obstructing the float.
- See if the 24-volt control circuit from the wall valves and on/off hose (if used) is operating.
Pull out the control circuit wire terminals from the terminals connector on the side of the power
unit, using a short piece of wire short across contacts. If motor operates, check the
inlet valves and hose on/off switch. Replace if necessary. If motor fails to operate,
call a qualified service person for service.
If the Motor Fails to Re-Start After Draining:
- If the tank is not draining immediately see if the debris screen is too long and drops down into
the drain blocking the outlet of the tank.
- Check to see that the float can drop completely. If there is a debris build-up, clean
container. Assure that there is only 1" of wire from the float to the tether.
If There is A Loss of Vacuum:
- See if flapper valve in the separation tank drain is closing when vacuum starts. You can
access the flapper by removing the large cap in the valve housing at the bottom of the separation
canister. The flapper should move freely. Clean out any debris and replace cap.
- The guard screen located in the separation tank above the cone may have become clogged with
debris. The guard screen in not removable. Use a stiff brush and clear the screen of any
debris.
- Hose may be obstructed. Using another hose (dry or wet/dry hose) reverse hose ends and
vacuum backwards through the obstructed hose.
- Wet/Dry hoses may be cleaned of debris by sucking up water to which cleaning compound has been
added.
